FRANKLIN, TN October 3, 2007) Media distribution developer PassAlong Networks and Cynergy Systems, Inc., the leader in Rich Internet Application (RIA) design and development, today announced a series of media products based on Adobe Flex technology. The partnership includes PassAlong's OnTour concert information widgets and the Speakerheart artist-controlled music management and promotions platform; additional music showcase and playlist widgets are currently in development.
"The next generation of successful applications will require the right combination of easy-to-use, rich media front-ends and robust, sophisticated Web services back-ends that include metadata, community and commerce," said Dave Jaworski, CEO of PassAlong Networks. "Many of the best software companies on the planet are having a difficult time achieving this right now."
PassAlong's award-winning OnTour widget brings artists and fans closer together by linking fans to up-to-date tour information and customized artist announcements. The OnTour application is a series of Adobe Flex software-based front widgets that are available on an assortment of platforms and in many customizable forms with easy-to-use interfaces. The widgets tap into an assortment of back-end metadata, including concert, artist and venue information, maps and more than 3 million songs.
Speakerheart is a RIA utilizing Adobe Flex software that enables independent artists to publish, promote and sell their music online. Artists can upload their own music, create track samples, set their own prices and sell it all side-by-side in custom storefronts. Speakerheart artists also have access to promotional tools called Shelves that can be pasted on any website supporting Adobe® Flash® software, including social networks such as Friendster and MySpace, plus artist blogs and fan sites.
Cynergy's Vice President Dave Wolf commented, "We've designed and developed a wide range of business and consumer applications using RIA technologies. Given the user experience expectations of digital music fans, RIAs are a perfect fit. Using RIAs for these media products will help foster listener loyalty and depth of engagement, as well as attract new fans."
