The foundation for our larger practice, Adobe Flex provides one of the richest, most cinematic user experiences possible on the Web today. Based on the mature and ubiquitous Flash platform, Adobe Flex provides a robust development environment and allows for comprehensive support for enterprise data services, security and integration.

We have developed more than 200 RIAs using Adobe Flex and typically have 15-20 simultaneous Flex projects going on at any point in time. Adobe AIR is a cross-platform runtime built on the Flash Platform that allows businesses to design, develop and deploy RIAs outside the browser as true desktop applications. Tightly integrated with the Flash Player and Flex runtime libraries, the AIR runtime allows an existing Flex application to be extended with additional functionality, reaching outside the browser's chrome and giving it access to local resources such as the file system, network stack and operating system chrome.

Understanding that moving RIAs out of the browser and onto the desktop means supporting both connected and disconnected network applications, Adobe AIR development allows occasionally-connected clients to continue working even when the network or an internet connection is unavailable. Working with this technology even prior to release, we have grown our Adobe practice's expertise around this exciting new platform.
